Gift Ideas

If you are like me, you will be running around frantically trying to find the perfect gift for your child's teacher as this school year is quickly coming to an end. As well as her dance teacher, baton instructor, gymnastics coach, you get the idea! We have Teacher Appreciation week coming up in May where we present the teacher with a gift each day from the class. As room mom for my son's Kindergarten class, I must get on the ball and think of some neat and unique things we can give his AWESOME teacher. I did run across some sale items at Vera Bradley that would make great gifts. Some were only $5! As I come across more great deals I will post them. On the other hand, if any of you know of any cute, unique, just can't pass them up gift ideas....let me know!

As a teacher, the best gifts I've gotten:
-gas gift card (last summer when gas was SO high, it was a blessing!!
- homemade cards from the kiddos saying thank you
- theater gift card
- anything personalized (teacher bag w/ spots for pictures of students)

Hope you find something to your liking!

I agree that gift cards are great for teachers (the teachers at KinderCare LOVE them). And the Vera Bradley idea is good, too. Nathaniel's teacher was given a VB lunch tote last year that she uses and loves. They also have lots of other cute bags, and I'm sure any of them would be a treat.

You also might think about an idea I used at Christmas ... you can read about it and see pictures at http://katandgray.blogspot.com/2008/12/buying-for-10.html if you haven't already read that one. You'd need to collect a small picture of each child in the class from his/her parents, but if you ask now, I'm sure you can get them by May. You could do a much nicer plant than I did. :)

On another note, I got so swamped at the end of the week between work, home and a charity event I was helping coordinate that I neglected to get back to you on your Blogger questions. We're having an Egg Hunt here tomorrow and my parents will be here for the weekend, but I should be able to find some time to call you. It looks like you figured out the signature thing, though ...
